Summary of Duties:
Certify Data Systems is looking for a strongly motivated Back-end Software Developer for its next generation product suite. The candidate must be capable of delivering high performance and highly scalable solutions in an agile environment. The candidate should be technically strong in Java, databases, J2EE design patterns, and software best practices.
| Responsibilities: |
- Implement Java-based middleware that addresses high performance, availability and scalability requirements as well as tight security and verifiability requirements.
- Deliver projects on time and with high quality.
- Follow good coding, testing, and documenting practices and adhere to existing standards.
- Analyze requirements for completeness.

| Requirements: |
- Excellent knowledge of Core Java, Threads, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
- Experience developing middleware or back-end software using databases and servlets.
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or a similar database.
- Experience with a Web Container.
- Experience with Hibernate and Spring.
- Working knowledge of shell scripts and Linux is desired.
- Experience with Web applications using distributed systems, load balancing, and high traffic is desired.
- Knowledge of XML, XSLT, HMTL, JSP, and Javascript is desired.

| Work Experience: |
- BA/BS in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years work experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in fast growing startups is preferred.

| Communication/Team Skills: |
- Excellent understanding of software development process and full product development cycle.
- Excellent analysis and design skills, yet practical enough to get the job done.
- Excellent communication skills, including documentation.

Work Environment: |
- Focus on teamwork; able to collaborate with Business and QA staff on projects.
- Must be able to perform under tight timeframes & execute problem-solving skills.
