Deployment Process
Certify HIE deployments are faster, easier, less time-consuming, more cost-effective and more reliable than any other solution.
Certify deploys a Gateway in a health system’s data center and accompanying HealthDock edge servers in affiliated physician offices so that the hospital and its affiliated providers can immediately handle clinical transactions and events, including results distribution, orders processing and patient summaries (CCDs). The deployment includes the infrastructure for a sophisticated standards-based HIE query platform to facilitate real-time capture, processing and delivery of patient summaries and clinical intelligence.
For most enterprise HIE deployments, Certify will:
- Develop a marketing and deployment plan based on the specific strategic and business development requirements of the health system.
- Define current state of physician EMR adoption in the community, determine specific interoperability goals for affiliated providers and align service offering to deliver short, medium and long-term value.
- Install, configure, test, optimize and move into production the software and Certify Gateway in the health system’s data center.
- Reach out to affiliated physicians to market the value of hospital/physician interoperability and begin deployment of Certify’s HealthDock edge servers.
In addition to Certify’s advanced technology platform, Certify provides all the necessary resources and services to market, sell and deliver interoperability to the health system’s affiliated physician population. Certify forms a marketing partnership with the health system and under its guidance manages the process of establishing a sophisticated, customized HIE across its inpatient and ambulatory network.
To begin the process, a member of Certify’s Physician Services team will reach out to the health system’s affiliated physicians to explain the value of connected healthcare and the process for deploying the HealthDock edge server in their practice environment. With an agreement to move ahead, a Certify Healthcare Analyst will engage with the physician practice to implement an interface with the practice’s EMR. The steps to do so are simple and straightforward:
- Certify ships the practice a HealthDock edge server.
- A 30-minute call is scheduled with the office manager to install, configure, and register the HealthDock with the health system’s Gateway. This establishes a live and secure interface between the health system’s Gateway and the physician’s HealthDock.
- The Certify Healthcare Analyst initiates the interface with the practice’s EMR supplier.
- The interface is tested, optimized and moved into production. The Certify Healthcare Analyst handles all project management requirements and communication with the practice, the EMR supplier and any health system representatives who would like to stay informed.
The total time commitment required of the physician practice staff is typically two to four hours. This time requirement is divided between initial configuration, QA testing and training. The elapsed time to establish a live interface is typically anywhere between one week and 12 weeks depending on the EMR company and physician staff availability.
Through sophisticated product engineering, the Certify Gateway and accompanying HealthDock edge servers have given hospitals and health systems a vastly simplified method for delivering interoperability in the physician’s office and access to much-needed ambulatory data.
